INSTRUCTIONS FOR
INSTALLATION AND OPERATION
MODEL V8DTB-2 PHASE EIGHT DESK-TOP ENCLOSURE
The information in this instruction manual covers the
installation and maintenance of the VSDTB-2 Phase
Eight Desk-Top Enclosures.
This unit includes an outer enclosure of No@* thermo-
plastic and an inner steel card cage rack for Phase Eight
modules, and a rear cover of Noryl thermoplastic. See
Figure 1. The card cage, outer housing, aud trim plates
are preassembled.
Lead the cables of the Phase Eight module through
the card cage fast. Insert the modules iuto the card
cage from the front, fitting the locating ribs on the
modules into the appropriate guide grooves in the
card cage. When fully inserted, each module should
be secured in place with the retaining bracket on the
rear of the module.
When all the Phase Eight modules have been in-

stalled, any unused positions in the V8DTB-2 unit
may be closed with appropriate closure panels. The
front closure panels snap into place with spring
clips. Since the V8DTB-2 is supplied with a rear
cover, the rear closure panels need not be installed.

The WIDTB-2 enclosure offers an attractive and
convenient means of housing Vicon CCW control and
switching equipment. It houses up to eight single-
position Phase Eight modules or various combination of
single, double, triple and quadruple modules.
3. Refer to the instruction manual for specific Phase
Eight modules for complete interconnection
instructions. Complete all connections between
modules, but do not connect the line cord or cords
to a utility outlet at this time.
4. Complete all external connections between Phase
Eight modules and other video components. Con-
nect power cords to appropriate power outlets, and
verify that all system interconnections are correct
and that the system functions correctly.
5. Route all cables leading to external video equip-
ment so that they fit into the cable passage on the
bottom of the rear cover. Attach the rear cover with
the screws provided.
