High Quality Printing on Film

By adjusting the height of the printhead before printing on glossy film or
other film base media, you can achieve superior quality image printing.
When you want to increase the precision of printing, or if you need eliminate
coarse texture in the print, follow the procedure below.
Important
z When adjusting the height of the printhead, you must also align the printhead.
Otherwise, the print job will not achieve the best results.
z When printing on glossy paper, or any other glossy base media that wrinkles easily,
to avoid damaging the printhead, never print with the printhead in the down
position.

Adjusting Printhead Height

Press the Online button to display "Offline".
Adjust the height of the printhead. (Æ P.2-27)
Select the correct setting for the media type. (Æ P.2-8, P.2-19)
Align the printhead. (Æ P.2-30)
Execute the print job. (Æ Chapter 3, "Printing from Windows", Chapter
4, "Printing from a Macintosh")
After completing the special print job, return the printhead height to its
original setting and re-align the printhead. (Æ P.2-30)
