Cause/Remedy
c If this device is connected to a computer serving as the
slave, it will be unable to communicate with other devices.
Terminate the current communications link (page 25), and
reconnect from the computer to which this device is
connected.
c Make sure that the computer with the Bluetooth USB
adapter is not covered.
c Data transfer speed may be affected by factors such as the
distance and presence of obstacles between devices, radio
interference, walls and other materials, and the type of
software application. Try moving the computer with the
Bluetooth USB adapter or the other device.
c Connection is possible only to a service also supported by
the computer with the Bluetooth USB adapter.

c The previous connection may not have been properly
terminated. After restarting the computer to which the
Bluetooth USB adapter is connected, try establishing the
dial-up connection again.
c The modem may not be properly installed.
See "Setting up a Bluetooth cell phone or modem" (page
20) to reinstall the modem.
When you have finished the reinstallation perform the
following steps in order.
1 Restart the computer to which the Bluetooth USB
adapter is connected.
2 Click the "Start" button, and click "Control Panel".
The Control Panel appears.
3 Click the "Network and Internet Connections" icon.
4 Click the "Network Connections" icon.
The "Network Connections" window appears.
5 Double-click the connection target icon.
6 In the "Connect to ..." window (where "..." is the name
of the connection destination), click "Properties", and in
the "General" tab, place a check mark by "Standard
modem over Bluetooth link", so that is it shown at the
top of the "List" tab.
7 Click "OK".
8 Click "Dial" again to establish the dial-up connection.
