Printer Driver Basics

The printer driver is a program that converts the text or image ﬁles you created with an

application program and then sends the converted data to the printer. The printer driver

works on processing the data so the printer can use it.

After you connect the printer to your computer, you must install the printer driver. For

instructions on installing the printer driver, refer to the Getting Started manual.
