Directions for the Car Clip Strap Set
The correct attachment of this product is critical and
beyond the control of Rightline Gear. The safe use
and long life of this product depends entirely on
your good judgment and following these directions.
The PackRight Car Clip Strap Set
The Car Clip Strap Set (Fig 1) is
included with the Sport Jr. Carrier,
but can also be purchased as an
accessory item for all other carriers.
The Strap Set is comprised of (2)
nylon straps with (4) rubber coated
steel hooks that are 1" wide with a
5/8" opening.
Each Car Clip Strap requires a sturdy ledge inside of
the car door opening for connection. On most vechicles
the best ledge can be found under the weather molding
around the door frame (Fig 2), however, you can use a
metal ledge (Fig 3), a rain gutter , or the outside of the
weather molding.
Fig 2
The photos below (Fig 4,5,6) show how the car clip will
look when it is attached under the weather molding (Fig
2). The car clip slides under the backside of the weather
molding (Fig 6).

Using the Car Clip Strap Set WITHOUT a Roof Rack
Each strap has two strap pieces connected through a cen-

and thread both the short and long strap pieces through
the d-rings on each side of the cargo bag, bringing the
two ends together over the top of the carrier (Fig 7).

2-Rethread the short strap back through the center buckle
(Fig 8).

3-Clip the ends in the open door frame and tighten the
strap at the buckle.
4-Shut the door of the vehicle over the clips/straps, secur-
ing them in place (Fig 9).
NOTE: The Non-Skid Roof Protection Pad is recom-
mended when using Car Top Carriers on vehicles with-
out roof racks.
Using the Car Clip Strap Set WITH a Roof Rack
If later you switch to a vehicle that has a roof rack, remove
the clips from the ends of the two straps. You may use
the straps front to back between the cross bars or side to
side between the side rails. Be sure not to exceed the roof
rack's weight limit. If you are unsure of the rack's weight
limitations, please contact your dealer or manufacturer.
