    When servicing use only identical replacement parts. MOTOR Many Porter-Cable tools will operate on either D.C., or single phase 25 to 60 cycle A.C. current and voltage within plus or minus 5 percent of that shown on the specification plate on the tool. Several models, however, are designed for A.C.
  • Page 7 To obtain the best finish, start with a “COARSE” grade of abrasive and change to “MEDIUM” and “FINE” grades as work progresses. A wide range of available PORTER-CABLE Sanding Belts is listed in the back of the manual. Keep a full assortment on hand so that the correct belt will always be available.

    3. Ensure that oil is level with bottom of hole. 4. If oil is required, remove oil fill plug from rear of housing (near trigger switch) and add a small amount of PORTER-CABLE SPECIAL OIL #803442 (S.A.E. 90 Gear Oil).

    Model 504 – When chain becomes loose, check the chain tension spring and replace if necessary. Model 503 – Replace the chain if the chain stikes the case. All Models – Replace the chain when the chain links become loose on the pins.
