The graph illustrates the change in sensor output characteristics when black paper is compared to white paper. To re- duce the offset error value, install the Sensor so that objects are de- tected at or as close as possible to the measurement point.

Move the Sensor so that the red beam (see the figure below) focuses on the object. The entire light beam should be focused on the object or an error will result.
