❏ Change the Threshold setting in the Image Control dialog box.
When Text (Background Removal) is selected as the Image
Type, change Text Enhancement Technology to None
from the B/W Option in the Image Type dialog box. Then
change the Threshold setting in the Image Controls dialog
box. Or change Text (Background Removal) to Text/Line
Art, then change the Threshold setting in the Image Control
dialog box. See "Image Controls" on page 3-19.
Moiré (cross-hatch) patterns appear in the

scanned image

❏ Make sure Image Type is set to Color Document or Black &
White Document in the Manual mode window.
❏ Change the Image Type settings. Turn the De-screening
setting On in the Image Type dialog box.
❏ Place a transparent sheet such as an overhead projector sheet,
between the document and the document table.
❏ Reposition the document slightly.
❏ Make the image size slightly smaller.

Colors differ from the original.

❏ Calibrate the screen. See "Calibrating Your Screen" on page
4-2.
❏ Change the Image Type setting. See "Image Types" on page
3-7 to make sure your settings are correct.
❏ Printed colors do not exactly match the colors on your
monitor, since printers and monitors use different color
systems: monitors use RGB (red, green, and blue), while
printers typically use CMYK (cyan, magenta, yellow, and
black).
