f Neveroperatetheproductwhenyouaretired,illor
undertheinfluenceofalcohol,drugsormedicine.
Working on banks can be dangerous.
– Donotworkonexcessivelysteepslopes.
– Alwaysbesureofyourfootingonslopesorwet
grass .
– Workacrossthefaceofslopesneverupanddown.
– Exerciseextremecautionwhenchanging
direction on slopes .
f Keephandsandfeetawayfromthecuttingmeansat
alltimes,especiallywhenswitchingonthemotor.
f Waituntilthecuttingheadhascompletelystopped
beforetouchingit.Theheadcontinuestorotateafter
themachineisswitchedoff,thecuttingsystemcan
causeinjury/damage.
f Takecareagainstinjuryfromanyde-vicefittedfor
trimmingthefilamentlinelength.Afterextending
newcutterlinealwaysreturnthemachinetoits
normaloperatingpositionbeforeswitchingon.
f Switchoffwhentransportingthemachinetoand
fromtheareatobeworkedon.
f Switchoffandremovethebatteryfromthebattery
cartridge:
– wheneveryouleavethemachineunattendedfor
anyperiod,
– beforeclearingablockage,
– beforereplacingthecuttinghead,
– beforechecking,cleaningorworkingonthe
machine,
– afterstrikingaforeignobject.Inspectthemachine
fordamageandmakerepairsasnecessary,
– ifthemachinestartstovibrateabnormally(check
immediately).
f Do not operate the machine in combination with
the DP3640XA or DP3660XA batteries in rain or
wet conditions. Water contacting the DP3640XA or
DP3660XAbatterieswillincreasetheriskofelectric
shock,fireandtheriskofdamagetothebatterypack
and/or attached device .
f Do not modify this product. Unauthorised
modificationsmayimpairthesafetyofyourproduct
andmayresultinincreasednoiseandvibration.
f OnlyuseHondaProfessionalGardenTool
recommended and approved accessories .
f Bewarethatthetoolmaykickbackwhenablade
suddenlystrikesahardobjectwhencuttingbrushor
scrubvegetation.Takecaretominimisetheeffects
ofkickback.
f This tool is designed to be used with the shoulder
harnessprovided.Takecaretoadjusttheharnessto
balancethetoolcorrectlyandreducethepotential
foroperatorfatigueinuse.
f For Transport and Storage, Blade should be
protected using an appropriate cover .

Maintenance

For Your Safety
f Warning: Switch off and remove battery from
machine before adjusting or cleaning.
f Use correct battery and charger.
f Always wear protective gloves when handling or
working near the sharp blades.
f Please use the correct guards with the correct
cutting heads.
See figure 4 of illustrations.
f To ensure long and reliable service, carry out the
following maintenance regularly:
f Keep all nuts, bolts and screws tight using tool
kitprovidedtobesurethatthemachineisinsafe
working conditions .
f Examinethemachineandreplacewornordamaged
partsforsafety.
f Ensure Honda approved correct replacement parts
are used .
f HavethemachinerepairedonlybyanHonda
authorised service dealer .
Cleaning
f Before transport or storage ensure machine is
clean and free from debris, if necessary clean with
a soft, dry brush.
f Thefollowingcleaningscheduleshouldbecarried
outafterevery10hoursofwork:
– Removeslipplateandthoroughlycleanarea
below .
– Openbumpheadspoolandremoveanydebris.
Recommendations for Optimal Handling of
the Battery and Charger
f Warning! Do not attempt to charge non rechargeable
batteries with the charger .
f Insertingthebatterypackintothemachinewiththe
switch on is dangerous .
f Ensurebatteryistherightwayup.
f Insertthebatteryuntilthelockingmechanismclicks.
Toremovethebattery,operatelockinglever.Take
carenottodropthebatterythroughthehole.
f For care use and maintenance please use charger
andbatterymanualswhicharesuppliedwiththe
products .
