CSS 11800
Cisco Systems announces the end-of sales (EOS) for the Cisco CSS 11800 Series
Content Services Switch.
The recommended replacements for the Cisco CSS 11800 include the Cisco CSS 11500 Series
Content Services Switch or the Content Switching Module (CSM)—an integrated services
module for the Cisco Catalyst® 6500 Series Switch and the Cisco 7600 Internet Router.
Cisco will continue to sell and maintain the WebNS software for the Cisco CSS 11800
Content Services Switch and may introduce select new software features for the platform.
The Cisco CSS 11150 and 11050 switches will continue to be sold and supported for
customers who have standardized on these platforms for ongoing deployments.
End-of-Sale Schedule
Customers may order the Cisco CSS 11800 Series through November 1, 2002 but
thereafter should substitute either the CSM or the CSS 11500 Series.
• End-of sale, end-of orderability: November 1, 2002
• Last shipment: December 1, 2002
• End hardware engineering: November 1, 2004
• End of software support: November 1, 2005
• End of support: November 1, 2007
Last release that will include new features in the WebNS Software of CSS11800 is scheduled
to ship on or before November 1, 2003. Software defects will continue to be fixed through
November 1, 2005.
