Scanning Oversize Items
Follow the procedure below to scan magazines, books and other items larger than the document glass.

As shown in the right figure, hold the
antislip grip on the center of the document
cover and open it partway (arrow

When the document cover is open to
approximately 60°, lightly pull it straight up
a short distance (arrow

Keep light upward tension on it as you
slowly swing the cover open the rest of the
way (arrow ).
• Do not force it if it does not open
easily as shown on the right. Repeat
the procedure from Step 2.

Position the item on the document glass.
• Cover the scanner with a black cloth if the external light enters around the scanned item.
