In its standard configuration the LBP-2000 delivers
high-speed, high quality printing for workgroups using
both Windows and Macintosh.
It offers print speeds up to 20 ppm
600 x 2400 dpi (AIR equivalent), dual paper feeds,
prints in sizes up to A3. It includes both parallel and
USB interfaces, and features an exceptionally large
cartridge capable of producing up to 10,000 pages. The
options are equally impressive. You'll find exceptional
networking capabilities, Adobe PostScript 3, a variety of
extra feeds, more memory and even a hard drive.
FASTER THAN YOUR
"AVERAGE 20 PPM" PRINTER.
While you would expect a 20 ppm laser to be quick,
not all were created truly equal. Not surprisingly,
Canon, the inventor of the desktop LBP, has created
one that is more equal than most.
Thanks to a powerful 200 MHz RISC processor, it
offers the fastest first print output in its class, a mere
11 seconds. Extensive testing also shows it has the most
rapid real print speed, offering not only a true
20 A4 pages per minute, but also an exceptionally fast
11 A3 pages per minute.
PRINT QUALITY AND A HIGH
CAPACITY CAR TRIDGE TO MATCH.
The LBP-2000 offers true 600 x 600 dpi resolution,
rising to an enhanced 1200 x 600 dpi equivalent for
razor sharp text and graphics. This can be enhanced
further by using the AIR™ (Automatic Image
Refinement) function in the driver. AIR provides
the equivalent of 2400 dpi on the horizontal axis
for extremely smooth text and graphics.

Canon's new cartridge design not only provides users
with a deep rich black, it also has the highest available
toner capacity volume in its class, up to 10,000 pages.
The all-in-one cartridge system, which can be easily
changed in seconds, ensures improved reliability and ease
of maintenance and helps keep total cost of ownership low.
COMPREHENSIVE CONNECTIVITY.
As a network printer, the LBP-2000 offers a variety of
standard and optional features. Both a bi-directional
parallel and USB (v. 1.1) interface are standard as are
PCL5e/PCL6 emulations. An optional network ethernet
interface is available, and the printer supports a wide
variety of network protocols. For Mac support optional
Adobe PostScript 3 software is also available.
Standard memory is 8 Mb of RAM, and the printer
includes 45 scalable in-built fonts. It also offers options
of 32 Mb and 64 Mb of RAM as well as a 65 Mb HD.
HIGHLY FLEXIBLE PAPER HANDLING.
The printer accepts all standard paper sizes, from A5
right up to a large A3 format, as well as a wide range
of envelopes. A high capacity paper supply consists of a
250-sheet cassette and 100-sheet multi-purpose tray as
standard features. Then up to 3 optional 250-sheet
cassettes can be added for a remarkable maximum capacity
of 1,100 sheets.

The LBP-2000 features CPCA (Canon Peripheral Controller
Architecture) with a driver common to Canon's new digital
iR and GP multifunctional systems. This opens up a wide range
of practical opportunities, via common utility software,
to enhance overall efficiency.
