Cannot send a fax?

If none of the above solve the problem, try unplugging the MultiPASS
L60 for at least five seconds, then plugging it back in. If the problem
persists, contact your local authorised Canon dealer or the Canon help
line. Please note that any documents stored in memory will be erased
when the MultiPASS L60 is unplugged.
Images on faxes
received from the
MultiPASS L60 are
spotted or dirty?
The MultiPASS L60
cannot send a fax using
ECM? (ECM TX does

Possible cause
An error may have occurred
during sending.
There may be a problem
with the telephone line.
The receiving fax machine
may not be a G3 fax
machine.
The receiving fax machine
may not be working
properly.
The document may not be
properly inserted in the
Automatic Document
Feeder (ADF).
The receiving fax machine
may not support ECM.
Solution
Print an activity report and
check for an error code. See
page 10-2.
Make sure you have a dial
tone on the optional
handset or telephone. If
not, contact your local
telephone company.
Make sure the receiving fax
machine is compatible with
the MultiPASS L60 (which
is a G3 fax machine).
Check the MultiPASS L60
by making a copy. If the
image is clear, the problem
may be in the receiving fax
machine.
Remove the document and
feed it correctly into the
Automatic Document
Feeder (ADF).
If the receiving fax machine
does not support ECM, then
the MultiPASS L60 sends
the fax in normal mode
without error checking.
