GEARWRENCH Tether Shackles are only intended for use as part of a tethering system and use with tools meeting the following
specifications:
- Total tool weight under 15 lbs. (6.80kg) (For GEARWRENCH part 88762)
Installation Instruction on carabiner lanyards to attach to tethering system:
1. Weigh your tool to ensure it does not exceed the GEARWRENCH Tether Shackles maximum working load capacity of
15 lbs. (6.8kg)
2. Measure the width/diameter of the tool the GEARWRENCH tether shackle will be placed on, ensure the width/diameter
of the tool is below the size capacity of the GEARWRENCH tether Shackle:
88715 - Tether Shackle Small, 2PC (0.60" x 1.1")
88716 - Tether Shackle Medium, 2PC (0.80" x 1.50")
88717 - Tether Shackle Large, 2PC (0.95" x 1.65")
88718 - Tether Shackle Extra Large, 2PC (1.10" x 2.00")
3. Unscrew and remove the crossbar of the shackle. Place shackle around tool and insert cross bar, to insure proper
fitment of shackle on the tool.
4. Remove the crossbar from the shackle. Once crossbar is removed apply a drop of thread adhesive to the crossbar
threads.
5. Reattach the cross bar and ensure the tool is fully secured by the shackle.
6. Firmly tighten the crossbar using pliers.
7. To confirm the security of the shackle perform a quick safety check by sliding the shackle up and down on both ends of
the tool confirming it will not slide off if a drop were to occur.

WARNINGS:

- NEVER use GEARWRENCH tether shackles to connect anything over 15 lbs. (6.8kg)
- GEARWRENCH tether shackles are Not Personal Protective Equipment
- Always use GEARWRENCH tether shackles with the recommended length of tethering accessories
- Do not use GEARWRENCH tether shackles as part of a tethering system around moving or rotating equipment
- GEARWRENCH tether shackles will not support human weight as part of a tether connection point
- Inspect GEARWRENCH shackles for wear before each use. Do not use if evidence of wear.
