Quick Start: Configuring Your SiteDialer to Receive
Alarms from a NetGuardian
For the SiteDialer to send voice notifications for alarms, you must first configure it to communicate with
a NetGuardian and load it with your NetGuardian's alarm database.
To configure your SiteDialer for use with a NetGuardian:
1. Access your NetGuardian via NGEdit
· Open a locally saved copy of the NetGuardian database
Or
· Download the database from your NetGuardian by navigating to Connect > Read from
NetGuardian and entering the IP and password of your NetGuardian
You'll modify your NetGuardian's database locally, then load it into the SiteDialer to database alarm
2. Navigate to the Notification Devices tab
3. In an unused row (ID), enter:
· TCP in the Type column
· A 4-digit port number in the Pin/Rcpt/Port column. Any port number will work. This simply defines
the virtual TCP port through which your SiteDialer and NetGuardian will communicate.
· The IP Address of your SiteDialer in the IPA field.

4. Click Save.
5. Access the Alarms tab.
6. In either the Pri Notify or Sec Notify columns, use the drop-down box to select the ID of the TCP
notification you configured in steps 2-4.
