The maximum capability is dependent on the instation and outstation as follows:-
1. Outstation Control/Reply Capability
The UTMC OTU/MOVA software has the capability for:-
8 control bytes i.e. 64 control bits*
16 reply bytes i.e. 128 reply bits*
24 SCOOT loops*
16 uni-direction loop pairs *
16 count, queue and occupancy units.*
*The actual capacity available on a site will be limited by the hardware equipped, as
follows:-
a) Freestanding OTU
The capacity will be limited by the number of BUS/MOVA I/O cards fitted (3 off
max). Each BUS/MOVA I/O card has:-
16 output lines
48 input lines
In addition, 8 inputs for detectors etc. are available on the CPU card.
b) Semi-integral OTU
The capacity is limited by the controller serial interface, and by the controller
configuration:-
up to 32 control bits
up to 32 reply bits
up to 64 SCOOT/MOVA detector bits
In addition, 8 inputs for detectors etc. are available on the CPU card.
2. Instation Control/Reply Capability
The Siemens UTC instation V29.0 and later supports the following for each OTU:-
8 control bytes
16 reply bytes, including junction reply bits and SCOOT samples (4 bits per SCOOT
loop)
NB: Prior to V29.0, the instation supported 3 control and 14 reply bytes
At the instation, when configuring junctions, the "data word format" (i.e. the controller
bits other than stage force bits) is limited to 19 bits and needs to start in the same 16 bit
word as the stage bits.
