Troubleshooting

WARNING
To reduce the risk of electric shock, turn power switch OFF and disconnect plug from
electrical outlet before performing maintenance or troubleshooting checks.
Problem
Possible causes
Vacuum
Power cord not plugged in.
cleaner
Blown fuse/tripped breaker.
won't run
Dirt container is full.
Filter dirty.
Hose not secure.
Dirt container not in place.
Vacuum path clogged.
Vacuum
cleaner won't
pick up dirt
Brush roll drive belt is broken.
Drive belt stretched.
Brush roll bristles worn.
Brush roll jammed.

Remedies
Check electrical plug.
Check/replace fuse or reset breaker.
Empty dirt container.
Check, remove debris or clean.
Check to be sure hose is snapped
into place at both ends.
Make sure dirt container is completely
inserted and snapped into place.
Visually check air passageway, hose
inlet, and hose for anything that
might be obstructing the vacuum
path. Carefully remove blockage.
Replace drive belt.
Check drive belt area and remove
obstructions. Replace drive belt if
necessary.
Replace brush roll.
Remove brush roll and clean debris
from brush and ends. Check drive
belt for any damage.
