Cleaning / maintenance

Maintenance

Servicing is necessary if the contact grill has been damaged or if liquids or objects have
penetrated the housing, if the contact grill has been exposed to rain or moisture or if it does
not work properly or has been dropped. If smoke is produced, or there are any unusual
sounds or smells, switch off the contact grill immediately and remove the mains plug from the
mains socket. In such cases, the contact grill should not be used until it has been inspected by
authorised service personnel. Only have qualified personnel carry out the maintenance work
on the device. Never open the housing of the contact grill.

Cleaning

Remove the mains plug from the mains socket before cleaning as there is a risk of an electric
shock!
Wait until the contact grill has cooled down completely. Otherwise, there is a risk of burns!
The contact grill must not be immersed in water as there is a risk of an electric shock!
Use a slightly damp cloth to clean the outer surfaces and never use any solvent or cleaner that
would corrode the plastic materials.
The grill plates (3 and 6) can be removed for cleaning. To do so, press the release (11) to remove
the bottom grill plate (6) and the release (12) to remove the top grill plate (3). Remove large
remaining food particles with the supplied cleaning scraper. The grill plates (3 and 6) can then be
cleaned in a basin of warm water and washing-up liquid. Rinse the grill plates (3 and 6) with clear
water afterwards and dry them completely before inserting them again. Never use a wire brush or
other abrasive objects.
Insert the grill plates (3 and 6) again after cleaning. Proceed as follows:
1. To do so, first slide the grill plates diagonally under the 2 guide tabs.
2. Press lightly on the grill plates (3 and 6) until they click into place.
Remove the grease tray (10) and dispose of the contents. The grease tray (10) can be cleaned in a
basin of warm water and washing-up liquid. Rinse the grease tray (10) with clear water afterwards
and dry it completely before inserting it again. Never use a wire brush or other abrasive objects.
The grill plates (3 and 6) and the grease tray (10) are dishwasher-proof up to 60°C.
