is essential
that you know the type of fabric you
are
going
to
clean and
if the fabric
may be cleaned with
wet methods. Most popular upholstery fabrics may
be
cleaned by
wet methods,
however,
delicate or unusual
fabrics may be DRY
CLEAN
ONLY.lf
you are in doubt
about
the type of fabric, check with the dealer
where
the furniture was purchased. Most fabrics are
WEAR-
CODED by
the manufacturers which details cleaning
methods
for a particular fabric. Bring in a cushion or
arm cover
if

colored,
it
may bleed through and
discolor fabric.
Most modern stuffing material is white to light yellow

Vacuum upholstery
thoroughly. Follow dilution
directions on
BISSELL
4 in 1 Extraction Shampoo
bottle. Clean one
section of upholstery at a time
by
slowly pulling upholstery tool towards you while
depressing
the trigger to release cleaning solution.
Make a second spray pass
at right
angles
to the
first.
This
will eliminate
any streaking
or
uneven
appearance.
To remove any excess moisture, repeat
this procedure, but without spraying cleaning
solution. The
dirt and grime being removed may
be
seen
through
the clean upholstery tool.
DO

wetting
may
cause shrinkage, bleeding,
discoloration, and other
problems and

cleaned by
holding upholstery tool 5-6 inches from
fabric and spraying surface with cleaning solution.
Do
not saturate. Vacuum loose soil and excess solution
at

tool. Repeat
procedure.

is possible to clean up to
wood
or painted surfaces without damage. Should
solution contact wood or painted surfaces, just wipe
it dry with a clean cloth.
TROUBLESHOOTING
TROUBLE:
Suction weakens, or cleaner runs hot.
POSSIBLE CAUSE:

Clogged filter.

Air
leak.

Obstruction in hose
nozzle.

Automatic shut-off stuck.
REMEDY:
.
Clean
dirt from vacuum filter.
.
lf condition
continues, change filter.
.
Check
all fittings for tight fit
(nozzles,
hose, etc.)
.
Check
that tank cover is seated
properly.
.
Check extenbion wands, hose, etc. for
obstruction and remove if
present.
.
Shut-off ball should be on the bottom of
its cage. lf unit tips over during use,
it
is
possible
for ball to seat. Turn off unit for
30
seconds
to allow
ball
to
drop back
into the bottom of the filter frame. lf
ball
seats due
to
high waste water level, stop
and empty tank.
TROUBLE:
Unit stops spraying or stops injecting
cleaning solution.
POSSIBLE CAUSE:
.
No water pressure.
o
Obstruction in bottle.
.
Obstruction in spray
nozzle.
.
Obstruction in injector
unit.
REMEDY:
.
Check faucet
to
be sure
you still
have
water pressure supplied
to the
unit.
.
Check
the solution tube to be sure that
the screen is clean. lf screen on solution
tube has come off, the metering orifice
will clog. lt
is
the small hole at the other
end
of the tube.
Remove
the tube
and
clean
off the small
hole.
AUTOMATIC
SHUT-OFF
This cleaner is
equipped
with
an automatic
shut-
off that
operates
when
picking up liquids. As the
level
of the
liquid
rises,
an internal
float
rises
until it
seats
itself
against
a seal at the intake
of
the
motor, shutting
off
suction.
To continue, empty the
liquid waste from the tank.
