Install WPD2 for package awareness

When to do
Use this procedure in case of a Windows error message related to a package-aware driver. For
more details about the Microsoft Patch MS16-087 (from July 12, 2016) see:
support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3170005"
This procedure let you install the WPD 2.x driver so that it is correctly recognized by Windows as
a 'package-aware v3 printer driver':
Procedure
1. Unpack the driver files in a directory (for example 'WPD2'), using the Océ wizard.
2. Open the Command Prompt as administrator.
3. Change the directory in the Command Prompt to the subdirectory 'wpd-x64' in the folder where
you unpacked the driver files (for example ...\WPD2\wpd-x64).
4. Type: 'pnputil -a oemsetup.inf' in order to add the driver to the Microsoft Windows driver store.
If needed, do the same operation in the folder ...\WPD2\wpd-x86 (for sharing the driver with 32-
bit client workstations).
5. Use the 'Add Printer' wizard (standard Microsoft procedure) to add the 64-bit printer driver. Select
Océ as a manufacturer and the desired printer as Printer model (no need to use the 'Have disk'
button)
NOTE
For the package-awareness to become true you MUST install the printer driver via the
Microsoft 'Add Printer' wizard.
6. After the printer has been installed in its 64-bit version:
1. go to 'Printer properties'
2. select the 'Sharing' tab
3. modify the sharing options as Administrator: click the 'Additional Drivers' button and check
the x86 check box to have the 32-bit version
4. follow the on-screen instructions
Result
The Océ WPD2 driver is properly identified as 'packaged' in Windows Print Manager.
