    MIDI sequencer (hardware or in your DAW), or any other controller that sends MIDI notes. The MAFD 2hp can receive MIDI as a USB device or via a standard MIDI cable. It responds to MIDI note/velocity, pressure, and mod wheel messages. Any 8 adjacent notes correspond to and trigger the 8 steps on a DFAM.

    Follow these steps to get the most out of your MAFD 2hp. 1. Power your MAFD 2hp with ​ E ITHER​ 1) the included 16-pin ribbon cable connected to your Eurorack power supply ​ O R​ 2) the angled micro-USB cable included with the standalone case and power supply.
  • Page 6 2. To the front panel, connect the straight micro-USB cable and/or a MIDI cable to the DIN/TRS adapter, and connect the other end(s) to a computer or MIDI controller.
  • Page 7 3. Patch the MAFD 2hp “TO ADV/CLOCK” jack to the ADV/CLOCK jack on your DFAM.
  • Page 8 4. Optionally, patch the MAFD “VELOCITY” and “PRESSURE” output jacks to input jacks of your choice. The “VELOCITY” jack outputs 0-5V corresponding to MIDI velocities 0-127, and the “PRESSURE” jack outputs 0-5V corresponding to MIDI (poly and channel aftertouch) pressures 0-127 and/or the mod wheel. 5.
  • Page 9 Optional Case Assembly Instructions 1. Unscrew the four screws on the end of the DFAM to remove the wooden end cap, and install the matching case piece in its place.
  • Page 10 2. Install the standoffs and MAFD 2hp using the screws with the standoffs. Avoid touching the insides of the MAFD--static discharge can break it. Notice that the power jack on the bottom side of the MAFD 2hp goes in the hole on the wooden support piece.
  • Page 11 3. Install the final wooden case piece with the two included screws. Don’t overtighten. In case the screws get mixed up, the two screws for this step are a little longer (8mm) than the four (6mm) screws used in the standoffs.
