According to DIN 12056 servicing must be carried
out by an expert (company) at the following intervals:
• after 3 months on systems used for industri-
al applications.
• after 6 months on systems used in multi-fa-
mily homes.
• after 1 year on systems used in single-fami-
ly homes.
KESSEL recommends the conclusion of a servi-
cing contract with the installation company or
KESSEL factory customer service.
During servicing, the following work must

• Actuate the slide, grease and readjust if ne-
cessary
• Open and clean the backflow protection device
• Clean the draining pump, check the impeller
and the bearings
• Clean the ventilation bore hole on the pres-

• Clean the inside of the tank if necessary

3. Cleaning and servicing
After servicing work has been completed, re-
place all the dismantled parts, carry out a test
run and put the system back into operation. Pre-
pare servicing log.

3.1 Removing the pump(s)

Fig. 12 also applies without floating switch.
The pump can be removed quickly and without
tools simply by loosening the one-handed
quick-action closure. The backwater valve in
the pressure port of the tank prevents the wa-
stewater which is still in the pressure pipe flo-
wing back into the system.
Before re-installing the pump, clean all the sea-

ling surfaces. Grease the lip seal in the drain.
Set the pump with both grooves in the housing
base onto the guide in the tank and push it for-
wards until the pump's pressure pipe can be in-
serted into the tank drain (Fig. 13). Lock the
quick-action closure.
