Handling Personal Answering Machine Emulation Calls

While you are listening to the broadcast, SPK flashes and MW lights steadily on.
G
Do nothing to have the caller's message automatically recorded in your mailbox.
G
Press SPK or lift the handset to intercept the call.
If your extension is in the headset mode, you can only press SPK .
G
Press MW to stop the broadcast and send the call directly to your mailbox.
To streamline handling of Automated Attendant UTRFs, the following will occur:
G
A UTRF to an extension in DND or to an uninstalled extension will immediately recall the
Voice Mail.
G
The phone system will send the "unavailable" protocol (***3[trk][ext]) to the voice mail,
which will cause the unavailable prompt to be played to the incoming caller.
In addition, when an Automated Attendant transfer detects reorder tone at an extension under any
other condition, the phone system sends the remote login protocol (**6) to the voice mail and the
incoming caller hears the remote login prompt.
In prior software versions, a UTRF to an uninstalled extension or an extension in DND would even-
tually time out and recall to key ring, causing call processing delays.
