SAFETY RELEASE AND LEASH
1. Connecting your leash to the Life line.
Never launch your kite before connecting your leash to the Life line.
A)
Connecting your leash: (standard mode)
Clip the snap hook onto the small buckle of the stainless steel ring at
the end of the Life line. The main ring is where the Life line should be
tied to.
B)
Connecting your leash: (suicide mode)
CAUTION: The standard mode is the only mode which guarantees
a complete depower of the kite when triggering the quick-release.
F-ONE recommends not to use the suicide mode which is made to
answer the specific needs of expert riders only.
Fit the chicken loop inside the main hole of the stainless steel ring.
Clip the snap hook on the small buckle of the stainless steel ring.

Connecting your leash to your harness
Trigger the release system of the leash to disconnect the tip. Take the small end part and
tie the main loop onto the leash ring of your harness. To do so, slide the loop into the ring
and then slide the other end (plastic tube) into the loop on the other side of the ring. (picture
1) Plug the two parts of your leash back together by fitting the small loop into the needle
(picture 2 & 3), then tuck the needle into the tube (picture 4 & 5). Make sure the release
system

3. How to release the kite leash
When encountering difficulties, you might need to completely
disconnect the kite from you even after having triggered the
quick-release of your chicken loop. To do so, release the kite
leash (tied onto your harness) by pushing the white part in
the direction of the red arrow. (picture 1). The kite will then be
completely
disconnected
from
CAUTION: When fully disconnected, the kitebar and the lines can hit people located
down the wind from you and cause severe injuries.
4. How to reconnect your kite leash :
Secure your kite and make sure the lines are not tangled. Thoroughly clean your system
(sand...) before reconnecting. Plug back your leash following the instructions here above.

Power management principles:
You should not be riding with arms fully extended all the time and the kitebar all the way up
as you would then have no further way to depower the kite in a gust. To reduce the power
from your kite you need to shorten the front lines by one of the following ways:
Pull on the red strap next to the cleat to reduce the power at anytime.
Extend the back lines
On land, use the knots that are closer to your bar only on extreme cases.
If you need to increase the power of your kite, you need to shorten the back lines by one of
the follwing ways:
Ease the power trim line at the cleat to the desired position
Shorten the back lines
On land, tie your front lines to one of the knots which are further away from your bar if
they are on position 2 or 3.
Caution: be aware that changing the lengths of the lines has consequences on the maneu-
verability of the kite. Shortening the front lines too much will make the kite hard to steer
while excessive shortening of the back lines can stall the kite and make it fly backwards.
Trimming the back lines:
You have the possibility to adjust the length of the back lines by using the knots located un-
derneath the floaters. You can shorten or extend the lines to increase of reduce the power
of the kite or to re-balance the kitebar if the back lines have different lengths.
