Error messages

If the "Start/Stop" button is pressed while the machine is not correctly set up or if an incorrect operation is performed, the
machine stops and informs you of the error with a buzzer and an error message. If an error message appears, correct the problem
according to the instructions in the message.
To close the message, touch
your nearest authorized Brother dealer.
Error messages

Can not find the positioning mark, please set the
frame to the previous position.

Cannot change the configuration of the characters.

Cannot communicate between PC and machine.
Please check the USB cable connections to run the
Link application.

Cannot connect to the PC. Please check the
network connection.

Cannot recognize the data for the selected pattern.
The data may be corrupted. Please turn off the
power and turn on again.

Cannot recognize the embroidery positioning mark.

Can't use this key during camera mode.

Change to a larger embroidery frame.

Check upper and bobbin thread.

This message is displayed when the embroidery positioning sticker cannot
be found while embroidering a pattern for the optional jumbo frame. Perform
the operation again from step
OPTIONAL JUMBO FRAME" on page 140.
This message is displayed when there are too many characters in the curved
text arrangement. Change the text arrangement or the embroidery frame.
This message is displayed when the machine cannot receive any data from
the computer in the Link mode with the USB cable connection. Turn off the
machine, and check the USB connection. After connect the USB cord
securely, turn on the machine again. (page 132)
This message is displayed when the machine cannot receive any data from
the computer in the Link mode with the wireless LAN connection. Check the
wireless LAN connection between the computer and the machine, and then
turn off and on the machine. (page 132)
This message is displayed when trying to recall damaged pattern data or
data created using another manufacturer's data design system. Turn the
machine off, then on again to return it to its normal condition.
This message is displayed when the machine fails to recognize the
embroidery positioning mark. Confirm that the embroidery positioning mark
is in the selected area. If problem persists, reposition the mark.
This message is displayed when a key that cannot be used is touched after
was touched to enter camera mode. Touch
This message is displayed when the thumb screws of the embroidery frame
holder are loose. Using the included 3 way screwdriver, firmly tighten the two
thumb screws. (page 64)
This message is displayed when the installed embroidery frame is too small.
Check which embroidery frames can be used, and then install a larger
embroidery frame. (page 62)
This message is displayed when the thread tension is too tight. Check the
tensions of the upper thread and bobbin thread, and then adjust them.
(page 116)
This message is displayed when the upper thread breaks or the thread
comes out of the thread tension disc or a thread guide. Check that the thread
passes under the upper and middle thread guides, and correctly thread the
upper thread. (page 82)
This message is displayed when lint or dust has accumulated in the thread
tension disc. Remove the tension dials, and then remove any lint or dust
accumulated between the felt washers. (page 176)
This message is displayed when the bobbin thread breaks or runs out.
Check that there is thread on the bobbin and that approximately 50 mm (2
inches) of thread has been pulled out, and then re-install the bobbin.

This message is displayed when there may be another cause. Refer to "The
upper thread breaks." on page 181 or "The bobbin thread breaks." on
