Troubleshooting guide

Often, w hat appears to be a malfunction is due to user error. Before calling for
service please consult the follow ing table.
Symptom
The pow er is not turned on.
The w iring harness fuse blow s.
No sound or sound is low .
The volume level is minimum.
The fader or balance is set to one side. Adjust the fader and balance.
The input/output cable or w iring
harness is connected incorrectly.
The unit does not w ork
The microcomputer malfunctions.
properly w hen a button is
pressed.
Sound quality is poor.
The volume level is too high.
(Sound distortion)
CD play does not start.
CD auto-changer input is not
connected to the unit.
Pow er button is not turned ON.
The specified disc is not
The specified disc is very dirty.

Cause
Check cables for shorts, then replace the
fuse w ith one of w ith the same rating
(show n on the case).
Raise the volume level.
Connect the input/output cable or w iring
harness correctly. See "Connections"
(Page 22).
Press the Reset button of the display
unit.
Use the appropriate volume level.
Connect the CD auto-changer input to the
unit.
Turn the pow er button ON.
Check and, if possible, clean the disc.
See "Cleaning your discs" (Page 6).
Eject the disc magazine and insert the
disc correctly.
Eject the disc magazine and insert the
discs correctly.
Eject the disc magazine and check the
number of the specified disc.
Use another disc.
Keep it aw ay from the CD auto-changer.
If sound skips at the same part, the disc
is faulty. Check and, if possible, clean
the disc.
See "Cleaning your discs" (Page 6).
M ount the unit so that is level.
M ount the unit in a stable place.
Set the angle adjustment sw itches to the
correct positions.
Connect the control output properly.
Change the modulation level / dynamic
control setting.(Page 20)
