In case of difficulty

Operation to reset
The microcomputer may malfunction (impossibility to operate,
erroneous display, etc.) w hen the connection cords are un-
plugged w hile pow er is ON or due to an external factor. In this
case, execute the follow ing method to reset the microcomputer
and return it to normal condition.
Unplug the pow er cord from the pow er socket and plug the
pow er cord into the socket again.
Remote control unit
Symptom
Remote control operation is not possible.
CD Player
Symptom
No pow er is applied w ith the POWER(
key ON.
Disc is loaded, player does not play.
No sound.
M usic is interrupted. (Sound is skipped.)
Scrolling display of "PLEASE CHANGE DISC
OR PRESS PLAY" after flashing display of
"DISCXXX ERROR"
Disc selection is not possible.
Disc begins to play w hen pow er is sw itched
ON.

Cause
÷ Batteries are exhausted.
÷ The remote control unit is too far aw ay from
the main system, controlling angle is too large,
or there is an obstacle in betw een.

÷ Pow er plug is loosely connected.
÷ With the pow er plug connected to the sw itched
AC outlet of an amplifier, the pow er of the
amplifier is turned off.
÷ Disc is loose.
÷ Disc is dirty.
÷ Disc is cracked.
÷ Condensation occured on the optical lens unit.
÷ Disc is not loaded.
÷ Play mode is not entered (The play indicator is
not lit).
÷ Disc is too dirty.
÷ Disc is cracked.
÷ The connection cords are inserted loosely.
÷ Disc is too dirty.
÷ Disc is cracked.
÷ Oscillation is applied to this unit.
÷ A disc has been inserted into the carousel w ith
the label on the left side.
÷ The disc is very scratched.
÷ M USIC TYPE mode is selected.
÷ The TIM ER PLAY sw itch is set to ON.
To reset the registered contents
The registered contents for title name, music type, and best
selection can be reset by the follow ing procedure.
Unplug the pow er cord from the pow er socket and, w hile
holding the 7 key depressed, plug the pow er cord into the
socket again.
÷ Replace w ith new batteries.
÷ Operate the remote control unit w ithin the
controllable range.
÷ Insert the pow er plug firmly to the AC outlet.
÷ Insert the pow er plug to the w all AC outlet.
÷ Insert disc properly.
÷ Wipe off the dust on the surface of the disc
referring to " Disc handling precautions" .
÷ Replace the disc w ith a new one.
÷ Leave the player for about 1 hour so that the
condensation is removed.
÷ Load a disc and press the 6 key.
÷ Press the 6 key.
÷ Wipe off the dust on the disc surface referring
to " Disc handling precautions" .
÷ Replace the disc w ith a new one.
÷ Connect all connection cords firmly.
÷ Wipe off the dust on the disc surface referring
to " Disc handing precautions" .
÷ Replace the disc w ith a new one.
÷ Try selecting a place w here no strong vibra-
tions occur by changing the installation place,
etc.
÷ Insert the disc w ith the label on the right side
and press the 6 key.
÷ Exchange the disc and press the 6 key.
÷ Press the M ODE key to quit M USIC TYPE
mode.
÷ Set the TIM ER PLAY sw itch to OFF unless
timer playback is required.
