ADA Compliant Dishwashers
LG's ADA Compliant dishwasher models feature
operational touch controls that meet the ADA
requirements by being positioned on the face of
the unit. The positioning of the controls allows for
easy forward reach, one-handed operation with no
more than five pounds of pressure. In the interior
of the dishwasher, the racks are designed for easy
front access: adjustable upper rack for loading
flexibility and lower rack's wire handle for easy
access.
In addition to meeting the products' operating
controls standards, ADA standards for accessible
design are, in part, dependent upon the height at
which a dishwasher is installed. To ensure your
dishwasher is installed at the proper height to
meet the ADA's other applicable standards, please
consult an appliance installation professional.
ADA Compliant Requirements
To be considered ADA compliant, a dishwasher
must meet the following requirements:
• Forward reach for operating controls and/or
mechanisms is maximum 48 inches and
minimum 15 inches.
• Operating controls and/or mechanisms must be
operable with one hand and shall not require
tight grasping, pinching, or twisting of the wrist.
The force required to activate controls shall be
no more than 5 lbs.
