When an WLA-5000AP Ethernet Adapter is used, it can be configured to
operate as a wireless station (infrastructure mode).
When acting in this mode, the WLA-5000AP Ethernet Adapter connects to a
wireless Access Point to link itself into a wireless network. It communicates
with other wireless stations through the AP. An WLA-5000AP Ethernet Adapter
provides bridging functions between the wireless network and the wired LAN
network.
Ad Hoc Mode
A group of wireless stations can form a wireless network without a centralized
Access Point involved. This is called an Independent Basic Service Set (IBSS
or Ad Hoc).
In this mode, an WLA-5000AP Ethernet Adapter connects to all other wireless
stations directly to communicate with each other.
