To adjust the parallelism of the cutting deck
1. Loosen the lock nut.
2. Turn the track rod to extend it or make it shorter.
Extend the track rod to lift the rear edge of the cover.
Make the track rod shorter to lower the rear edge of
the cover.
3. Tighten the lock nut.
4. Do a check of the parallelism. Refer to
check of the parallelism of the cutting deck on page
54 .
To replace the belt on the cutting deck
WARNING: Only do work on the belt with
the power off and the drive shaft removed.
WARNING: Use eye protection when you do
work on the cutting deck. The belt tension
spring can break and cause injury.
1. Remove the belt covers.
2. Loosen the nut to the belt tension spring.
3. Remove the belt.

4. Install the belt around the pulleys as shown in the
illustration.
5. Tighten the nut until the belt has the correct tension.
To do a
To charge the 12 V battery
Charge the battery if it is too weak to start the engine,
and during storage of the product.
1. Open the engine cover. Refer to
remove the engine cover on page 45 .
2. Turn the main switch to OFF.
3. Loosen the 2 screws to the air filter holder. Put the
air filter holder and the air filter to the side.
4. Remove the negative cable from the battery.
5. Remove the positive cable from the battery.
6. Use a standard battery charger to charge the
battery.
7. Install the cables and air filter holder in opposite
sequence.
