This function can be used to convert the performance memory voice assignments used by the CVP-87A, CVP-85A,
and CVP-83S to Clavinova Common Voice Assignments so songs recorded on one of these instruments can be played
back on other Clavinovas.

Use the [DANCE POP 1/DANCE POP 2] and [BIG BAND/BOOGIE] style se-

lectors while holding the [MIDI/TRANSPOSE] button. The [DANCE POP 1/
DANCE
POP 2
DANCE POP 2] style selector increments the utility function number each time it is
pressed, and the [BIG BAND/BOOGIE] button decrements the utility function
BIG BAND
number.
BOOGIE
The Utility Mode 2 functions are indicated on the TEMPO display by a small "u"
in the leftmost digit position. The number of the function is displayed by the center
digit ("1" through "6"), and the function is indicated by the right digit.
The [MIDI/TRANSPOSE] button must be held until after you've executed the
function, below.
Use the TEMPO [ ] or [ ] button while still holding the [MIDI/TRANSPOSE]
TEMPO
button to execute the function (the "u6" function uses other buttons).
Release the [MIDI/TRANSPOSE] button to exit from the Utility 2 Mode when
you've finished making the required settings.
Insert the disk containing the data to be converted into the Clavinova disk drive and select
the song to be converted. This function cannot be executed if an appropriate disk is not
loaded (see "Notes" below).
Select the "u1" function as described in the introduction to this section, then, while still
holding the [MIDI/TRANSPOSE] button, press the TEMPO [ ] or [ ] button to begin
conversion. Simply release the [MIDI/TRANSPOSE] button before pressing the TEMPO
[ ] or [ ] button if you want to cancel the function. You can release the [MIDI/TRANS-
POSE] button once the conversion has started, and the conversion will continue to comple-
tion.
The Common Voice Conversion function will automatically be exited when the conver-
sion is complete.
