    If you already have a scanner connected to your computer, you may need to remove its driver programs to properly install and operate your Xerox DocuMate 752 scanner. Please see “Troubleshooting” on page 106 for more information, and “Uninstalling Your Scanner” on page 111 for basic instructions to uninstall driver programs.

    Step 2: Install the Software DocuMate 752 Scanner User’s Guide To install the software: 1. Start Microsoft Windows and make sure no other applications are running. 2. Insert the installation DVD into your computer's DVD-ROM drive. The DVD automatically starts.

  • Page 17 TWAIN and ISIS—The TWAIN and ISIS drivers are installed. The One Touch 4.0 Monitor will not run and you cannot use the One Touch features. You can use the Xerox DocuMate 752 TWAIN driver to scan from TWAIN applications, and Microsoft’s Windows Image Acquisition (WIA) if your computer is running Windows XP.

The Color Space setting sets the gamma value for the scanner so scanned items look good on your monitor. Gamma controls the brightness of the midtones of colors.

    Step 3: Connect the Power Supply Connect the power supply and power cord, and plug the power supply into an electrical outlet. To connect your DocuMate 752 scanner: 1. Plug the power supply into the power port on the scanner. NOTE: Only use the power supply (model number: HEG42- 240200-7L(A) LF from HiTron) included with your scanner.

    If you selected the recommended Full Install option for your scanner’s driver (see page 12), you have several different options to scan with your Xerox DocuMate 752 scanner. Each method scans equally well, so use the one with appropriate options for the item you are scanning.

    Scanning Scanning Basics Loading a Stack of Documents You can use your Xerox DocuMate 752 to scan a single page, or stacks of documents using the Automatic Document Feeder. NOTE: Always remove any staples or paper clips from documents before inserting them into the scanner’s Automatic Document Feeder.

You can then use the interface to change the Resolution, Scan Mode, and other settings. When you scan, the scanned image will still be sent as the file type and to the same Destination Application already selected in the One Touch Properties window for that button.

To adjust a setting: 1. On the left side of the Advanced Interface, select a configuration, for example, Color Configurations.

    You can also type a number directly into the resolution setting box, or click the up and down arrows to increase or decrease the setting. The resolution settings on your Xerox DocuMate 752 scanner range from 50 dpi to 600 dpi.
