    A system generation, or sysgen, is the process you use to install, upgrade, or modify the operating system software (OSS) on a Xerox Laser Printing System (LPS). Table 1-1 lists the purpose of each sysgen type.

Options 5, 9, or 13 on the configuration options menu may still be selected. However, settings for these options have no effect on the actual configuration of the printer.
