Troubleshooting Print-Quality Problems

Probable Causes
The media type set in the printer driver does not
match the media loaded in the printer.
Several sheets are being fed at the same time.
Media is not set properly in the tray.
Ink or Debris on the Page
Probable Causes
The paper release blade needs cleaning.
You are printing 2-sided manually using paper that
has already been printed on one side and you did not
select 2nd Side as the paper type.

Solutions
Load the correct media in the printer and set the type
at the printer control panel. For details, see
Media
on page 56.
Remove the media from the tray and check for static
electricity. Fan plain paper or other media (but not
transparencies), and replace it in the tray.
Remove the media, tap it to straighten it out, return it
into the tray and then realign the media guides.
