Accessing the System
Board from the Rear
Flash memory can be used to store downloaded fonts,
macros, symbol sets, logos, and forms.
You can install one flash memory SIMM in your printer.
Flash memory SIMMs are available in 1, 2, and 4MB.
Data stored in flash memory is retained when the printer is
powered off.
To install a flash memory SIMM, you need to access the
printer system board on the back of the printer. Follow
these steps to access the board:

Turn the printer so its back is facing you.

Unplug the printer power cord.

Disconnect all cables from the back of the printer.

Do one of the following:
• Remove the optional Tray 2, if one is installed. If you
need help, see the documentation that came with it.
• Remove the printer rear cover. Press down on the two
tabs located at the top of the rear cover, and pull the
cover away from the printer.
