    INSTALLATION WARNING Thermostat installation and all components of the control system shall conform to Class II circuits per the NEC code. Remove Old Thermostat A standard heat/cool thermostat consists of three basic parts: The cover, which may be either a snap-on or hinge type. The base, which is removed by loosening all captive screws.

    THERMOSTAT QUICK REFERENCE Home Screen Description Displays the power level of the 2 “AA” batteries: indicates good power level indicates batteries at about half power. “Cambiar (Change ) indicates batteries are low and should be replaced with 2 new premium brand “AA” Alkaline batteries.

    INSTALLER/CONFIGURATION MENU With thermostat in Heat, Cool or Auto, in normal operation, press the Menu button for at least 5 seconds. The display will show item #1 in the table below. Press Menu to advance to the next menu item. Press Shaded items are not available to 1F86.

If the heating sys- tem requires the thermostat to energize the fan, select ELE.

    TROUBLESHOOTING Reset Operation Note: When thermostat is reset, installer confi guration menu settings and programming will reset to factory settings. If a voltage spike or static discharge blanks out the display or causes erratic thermostat operation, you can reset the thermostat by removing the wires from terminals R and C (do not short them together) and removing batteries for 2 minutes.
