    Using Your Range To obtain the best cooking results possible, you must operate your range properly. This section gives you important information for efficient and safe use of your range. This allows the oven to maintain proper temperatures. 1. Position rack. Position rack so that the surface of the food is at least 3 inches (7 cm) away from the broil element.
