Connecting PCPro to the SV8300

Three ways are available for connecting the SV8300 to the PC (PCPro is installed). Choose one of these
methods to suit your particular needs.

• IP connection

• RS-232C connection (direct connection)

• Modem connection

NOTE 1:
Up to four instances of PCPro can be connected to the CPU blade with SV8300. The number of
connections allowed per connection mode is as follows (When the remote unite is in survival
mode, the PCPro can connect to the CPU of each unit.):
- IP connection
- RS-232C connection (direct connection) :Up to 2 (on a modem connection, 1)
- Modem connection (using VMDB)
NOTE 2:
A communication link can be established between the SV8300 and the PC (at a baud rate of
9600 bps) by default when PCPro launches for the first time. Once a communication link is in
place, follow these steps to change the baud rate:
(1) Change the baud rate of the CPU with CM40YY=08.
(2) Change the setting to meet the baud rate of the CPU in the PCPro [Connection Account]
screen.
(3) Log off PCPro once, then log it on again.
(4) The recommended port for connecting the PCPro is the ETHERNET port.
