    A magnetron in the oven produces microwaves which reflect off the metal floor, walls and ceiling and pass through the turntable and appropriate cookware to the food. Microwaves are attracted to and absorbed by fat, sugar and water molecules in the food, causing them to move, producing friction and heat which cooks the food.

    Preset Cooking Times and cooking power have been preset for specific microwavable foods. Use the following chart as a guide. FOOD QUANTITY/INSTRUCTIONS Rice (sensor) 0.5-2 cups (125-500 mL)/ Use dish with loose-fitting lid. Let stand 5 minutes after cooking. Canned Vegetables 2 1-4 cups (250 mL-1 L)/ Place in microwavable container.

    Replacing Filters The grease filters should be removed and cleaned at least once a month. The charcoal filters cannot be washed and should be replaced every 6 to 12 months. Do not operate the microwave oven without the filters in place. See “Assistance or Service” to reorder filters.
