BEFORE YOU BEGIN Thank you for selecting the WESLO CADENCE treadmill. The natural motion and versatility of tread- mills have made them the most popular way to get an effective cardiovascular workout. The CADENCE 740 treadmill blends advanced technology with innovative design to let you enjoy this invigorating exercise in the convenience and privacy of your home. -

ASSEMBLY Set the treadmill in a cleared area and remove all packing materials. Do not dispose of the packing materials until assembly is completed. Refer to the drawings below to identify small parts used in assembly. Assembly requires an adjustable wrench 3/8"... -

5. The Console (3) requires two "AA" batteries (not included); alkaline batteries are recommended. To install batteries, first slide off the Battery Cover (58). Remove the battery clip from the Console (3). Press two batteries into the battery clip, with the negative (Ð) ends of the batteries touching the springs. -

OPERATION AND ADJUSTMENT THE PERFORMANT LUBE WALKING BELT Your treadmill features a walking belt coated with PERFORMANT LUBE , a high-performance lubricant. IMPORTANT: Never apply silicone spray or other substances to the walking belt or the walking plat- form. They will deteriorate the walking belt and cause excessive wear. - Page 8 DIAGRAM OF THE CONSOLE Speed Control Note: If there is a thin sheet of clear plas- tic on the face of the console, remove it. Keep all liquids away from the console. CAUTION: Before operating the console, read the following important pre- cautions.

TROUBLE-SHOOTING AND STORAGE Most treadmill problems can be solved by following the simple steps below. Find the symptom that applies to your treadmill and follow the steps listed. If further assistance is needed, please call our Customer Service Department toll-free at 1-800-999-3756, Monday through Friday, 6 a.m. until 6 p.m. Mountain Time (excluding holidays). - Page 11 5. SYMPTOM: THE WALKING BELT IS OFF-CENTER WHEN WALKED ON a. If the walking belt has shifted to the left, first remove the key and UNPLUG THE POWER CORD. Using the allen wrench, turn the rear roller adjustment bolt clockwise 1/4 of a turn. Plug in the power cord, insert the key and run the treadmill for a few min- utes.
