4. Trouble shooting handware
This section includs analysing trouble, the method of isolating problem with the Router :
4.1 Isolating Problems
The key to solve system trouble is to seperate the trouble from system by comparing what the system should do
and what the system is doing to easy seperation and solving.Consider the following son system when solving the
problems:
(1)
Power and cooling systems——power supply,power cable and fan；
(2)
Ports ,cables and connections——ports on the rear panel the router and the cables connected to them.
4.2 Troubleshooting the power and cooling systems

Check the following items to help isolate the problem:

When the power switch is in the ON position and the power LED is ON ,make sure the fan is operating .If
not ,check the fan .
(3)
Check the working environment conditions to make sure it is not very hot and the chassis intake and exhaut
vent are clear. The operating temperature of the router is 0--40 degree.
(4)
If the router fails to boot , but the power LED is on , Check the power supply .
4.3 Troubleshooting the Ports ,Cables and Connections
Check the following items to isolate problem:

If Router fails to recognize a port , check the cable connection:

If the power switch is in the "ON" position ,make sure the power LED is ON .If not , check power source and
power cable;
(3)
If system startes but console port does not work , ensure console port configuration is 9600baud ,8 data
bits ，no parity ，1 stop bits ,no flaw control.
4.4 Indicator lamp information
LED indicator lamp shows that Router is working.Indicator and information on the device is as the following:

information of this lamps refer "Hardware Installing Book of Interface Card".
