Turning Up a Node
Security Level
Procedure
Step 1
In node view (single-shelf mode) or multishelf view (multishelf mode), click the Provisioning > WDM-ANS
> Provisioning tabs.
Step 2
From the Selector area, select the PSM slot. If the default parameters are present, continue with
click Add to add the Channel LOS Threshold and VOA Attenuation parameters. To add the ANS parameters,
see the
Step 3
Click the value of the ANS parameter that you want to modify and enter the new value specified in the
following table. To modify the ANS parameters, see the

for instructions.

Click Apply.
Step 5
Click the Provisioning > WDM-ANS > Port Status tabs.
Step 6
Click Launch ANS.
Step 7
In the Apply Launch ANS dialog box, click Yes.
Step 8
In the Launch ANS confirmation dialog box, click OK.
Step 9
In node view (single-shelf mode) or multishelf view (multishelf mode), click the Provisioning > WDM-ANS
> Provisioning tabs.
Step 10
Verify the following in the Results column:
• Success - Changed —The parameter has been successfully changed with the ports in IS.
Step 11
Verify that the Set By column displays t he value "ANS" or "APC" as the application that sets the
ANS parameter.
Step 12
Return to your originating procedure (NTP).
