    INSTRUCTION SHEET FOR FEDERAL MODELS 121 (12VDC), 121A (12VDC AND 24VDC), AND 121S (120VAC) VITALITE® ROTATING LIGHTS SAFETY MESSAGE TO INSTALLERS NOTE Installation, maintenance and disposal of this product must be carried out in accordance with national codes and standards. It is important to follow all instructions shipped with this product.

    III. INSTALLATION. Model 121. Roof Mounting. The Model 121 is designed for vehicular and portable use. It comes with a magnetic mounting base and is equipped with a plug that fits in a standard cigarette lighter socket. If the light is used outdoors, it MUST be mounted with the dome up. Because vehicle roof construction and driving conditions vary, Federal does not recommend driving a vehicle with a magnetically mounted warning light installed.

    Models 121A and 121S. Models 121A & 121S rotating lights are designed for mounting on a flat horizontal or vertical surface or on a 1/2" NPT threaded pipe. Mounting on a vertical surface with the lens positioned upward can be accomplished using a separately purchased Federal Signal wall (Model LWMB2) or corner (Model LCMB2) mounting bracket.

NOTE The 120 VAC units are designed to operate on both 50 and 60Hz electrical power. Special modifications are NOT required for the two different AC line frequencies. MAINTENANCE.

    III. INSTALACIÓN. Modelo 121. Montaje de techo. El modelo 121 está diseñado para uso portátil y vehicular. Incluye una base magnética de montaje y está equipado con un enchufe que se adapta a una salida estándar de encendedor. Si la luz se usa en exteriores, DEBE montarse con el domo arriba. Debido a que las condiciones de manejo y fabricación del techo varían, Federal no recomienda conducir un vehículo con una luz de advertencia de montaje magnético instalada.

    Modelos 121A y 121S. Las luces rotatorias modelos 121A y 121S están diseñadas para montarse en una superficie plana horizontal o vertical o en una tubería roscada 1/2" NPT. Puede lograrse un montaje en una superficie vertical con los lentes ubicados hacia arriba usando un soporte de montaje Federal Signal de pared (Modelo LWMB2) o de esquina (Modelo LCMB2) adquirido por separado.

    Modelos 121S 120 VCA. No conecte si los conductores de alimentación están con energía. Las unidades de corriente alterna 121S incluyen tres conductores (uno negro, uno blanco y uno verde/amarillo). Conecte el conductor negro al terminal de fase de la fuente de alimentación, el blanco al común (neutro) y el verde/amarillo a tierra.

  • Page 13 III. INSTALLATION. MODÈLE 121. Montage sur le toit Le modèle 121 est conçu pour utilisation véhiculaire et portative. Il est livré avec une base de montage magnétique et est muni d’une prise qui s’adapte à une douille d’allume-cigarette standard. Si le gyrophare est utilisé à l’extérieur, il DOIT être monté avec le dôme vers le haut.

    Si le tableau de bord est étroit ou forme un angle aigu, fabriquez un support d’angle et installez-le sur le tableau de bord afin que le gyrophare soit de niveau. Vissez la plaque de montage au support. Si le support de montage est fait d’acier, il n’est pas nécessaire de fixer la plaque de montage au support.

Les appareils à courant alternatif de modèle 121S comportent trois fils (un noir, un blanc et un vert/jaune) pour les unités c.a. Reliez le fil noir au côté phase de la source d’alimentation, le blanc au côté...
  • Page 16 Soulevez délicatement le dôme. Assurez-vous que vous n’avez pas perdu le support entre le dôme et la base. Toujours porter des gants et une protection oculaire lors du remplacement de lampes. Saisir la lampe, aussi près que possible de la base et la pousser doucement dans la douille en la faisant tourner dans le sens antihoraire.
