    This fireplace has a piezo ignitor. This sys- tem requires no matches, batteries, or other sources to light fireplace. BLOWER ASSEMBLY (VSGF28NTC) This fireplace has a blower assembly. The blower operates thermostatically and has a variable speed control. The blower circu- lates heated air from the fireplace into the room.

See page 9 for built-in fireplace installation. Note: The instructions below show assem- bling and attaching brass trim to fireplace.

    INSTALLATION Continued 4. Place hearth base accessory against wall at installation location. Cut an ac- cess hole in hearth top to run gas line to fireplace (see Figure 9, page 8). Make sure to locate access hole so cabi- net mantel will cover it when installed. Note: You can secure base to floor us- ing wood screws.

    INSTALLATION Continued Installation must include an equipment shutoff valve, and a plugged 1/8" NPT tap. Locate NPT tap within reach for test gauge hook up. NPT tap must be upstream from fireplace (see Figure 17). IMPORTANT: Install equipment shutoff valve in an accessible location. The equip- ment shutoff valve is for turning on or shutting off the gas to the appliance.

Cor- rect all leaks at once. WARNING: Never use an open flame to check for a leak. Apply a mixture of liquid soap and water to all joints.

Note: If pilot goes out, repeat steps 3 through 7. • If control knob does not pop out when released, contact a qualified service person or gas supplier for repairs.
