7.8.2 Route of Toner Supply

When the user fits the toner cartridge [1] in place, toner is temporarily stored in the sub
hopper [2], inside which is a sensor that makes sure that the amount of toner remains at a
specific level at all times. When the developing assembly [4] requests a supply of toner, the
machine rotates the feedscrew [3] to move toner from the sub hopper to the developing
assembly.
The machine's toner cartridge serves as a hopper (as found in past models).
