    NiCd or MiMH batteries. For long time operation it is adviseable to use the extra battery pack APP-446-M. The MiCo 446 is ready for use after the batteries are inserted into the battery compartmet and the battery door is locked.
  • Page 6 English The maximum communication range can be obtained only by using fresh or fully charged batteries. Remove the batteries out of the set if it is not intended to be used for longer period. Rechargeable batteries or the rechargeable battery pack APP-446M can be recharged inside the transceiver by using the suitable desk drop in charger SLG-446-M.

  • Page 9 English 7. Channel Selection Press F key 1 time to activate the chan- nel setting mode. Press on of the selector keys [▲ ▼] momentarily to select the channel number 1-8. 8. Tone Call Selection Press the F key 2 times to activate the tone call setting mode.
  • Page 10 English 10. VOX-Sensitivity This is to be activated only while VOX is set “ON” and immediate press of F key can attain this mode. Press selecor key [▲] or [▼] to set the sensitiv- ity level. The highest level L4 makes the VOX most sensitive.
  • Page 11 English Press PTT or F key to choose it.. To set CTCSS “Off” press C key a few seconds till CTCSS number disappears. Purpose : CTCSS helps one avoid inter- ferences and is recommended in radio signal-congested area. It is a must to have CTCSS in order to activate Remote Monitor Function.

    English power mode is more power saving and suggested for short range transmission. When battery condition is weak 2 beep tones will follow when you press PTT. In this case the transmitting output power automatically switches to low power mode. 17.
