SPARK ARRESTER WARNING TO RESIDENTS OF CALIFORNIA AND SEVERAL OTHER STATES Under California law, and under the laws of several other states, you are not permitted to operate an inter- nal combustion engine using hydrocarbon fuels on any forest, brush, hay, grain, or grass covered land; or land covered by any flammable agricultural crop with- out an engine spark arrester in continuous effective working order. -

Section 1: Safety 16. Do not operate the machine while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, or when tired or ill. 17. If using machine in wet conditions, exercise extreme care to prevent loss of footing. Wear footwear that will improve traction. -

Page 10: Use Correct Diameter Trimmer Line
Section 4: Operation USE CORRECT DIAMETER TRIMMER LINE For tougher cutting conditions, use two (or four) sections of the thicker, .155" di- ameter extra-heavy duty line. For less demanding conditions, use two sections of the thinner, .130" diameter heavy-duty line. The thicker line has the heft to chop through tougher materials, while the thin- ner line provides a more precise cut. - Page 11 WARNING THROWN OBJECT HAZARD! • Objects such as rocks, pebbles, and small debris will be thrown violently by the cutting head, resulting in sig- nificant hazard to eyes and exposed body parts. • Always wear safety-approved eye pro- tection and suitable clothing and footwear.

Remove ignition key on electric start models. Failure to follow these instructions can result in personal injury or property damage. -
