This unit is equipped with an internal combustion engine and should not be used on or near any unimproved forest-
covered, brush-covered or grass-covered land unless the engine's exhaust system is equipped with a spark arrester meeting
applicable local or state laws (if any). If a spark arrester is used, it should be maintained in effective working order by the operator.
In the State of California the above is required by law (Section 4442 of the California Public Resources Code). Other states may have

SECTION 4: OPERATING YOUR LOG SPLITTER WARNING: Read, understand, and follow all instructions and warnings on the machine and in this manual before operating. WARNING: Wear leather work gloves, safety shoes, ear protection, and safety glasses when operating log splitter. Ensure safe footing. - Page 9 Horizontal Position • Pull the vertical beam lock out and rotate it down. See Figure 7. Pivot beam to the horizontal position. SECTION 5: ADJUSTING YOUR LOG SPLITTER WARNING: Do not at any time make any adjustments without first stopping engine, disconnecting spark plug wire, and grounding it against the engine. Wedge Assembly Adjustment As normal wear occurs and there is excessive “play” between the wedge and beam, adjust the bolts on the side of the wedge assembly to eliminate excess space between the wedge and the beam. - Page 11 on the tank, hydraulic pump or valve.
