Adjusting the Needle Height with Cylinder Tool

Tools required: Screwdriver, #3 x 150 mm in length, needle-height cylinder tool.
NOTE: If loop lift is incorrect needle bar
height will appear incorrect. Using the
cylinder tool requires removing the hook
and is used to set needle bar height
first. Loop lift can then be adjusted
afterwards. When visually checking
needle bar height with the hook installed
loop lift must be set correctly first
and then needle bar height is visually
checked.
Check
1. Turn the hand wheel in the direction of
motion until the hook point becomes even
with the right side of the needle.
2. The hook point should be 1.0 mm above
the needle eye. If the height of the needle
appears to be out of adjustment, first install
the loop lift clamp and 2.2 mm feeler gauge
as shown in the adjustment of loop lift and
needle distance sections and make sure loop
lift is set correctly.
3. Check loop lift.
4. If the machine requires a loop lift adjustment, remove the stop-finger and hook body from the
machine. Then follow the steps below using the Needle Height Cylinder tool.
