Emergency Operation
An Emergency Alarm is used to indicate a critical situation. You are able to initiate an Emergency at
any time even when there is activity on the current channel.
NOTICE: One channel supports only one Emergency mode.
Your radio supports the following Emergency modes:

If programmed, the Emergency Search tone sounds. This tone is muted when the radio transmits or
receives voice, and stops when the radio exits Emergency mode. The Emergency Search tone can be
programmed by your dealer or system administrator.

Description
A non-voice signal which triggers an alert indication on a group of ra-
dios.
Once the Emergency Alarm is acknowledged, the group of radios can
communicate over the programmed Emergency channel.
Once the Emergency Alarm is acknowledged, your radio microphone
is automatically activated which is known as hot mic. Hot mic allows
you to communicate with the group of radios without pressing the PTT
button.
NOTICE:
If Emergency Cycle Mode is enabled, repetitions of hot
mic and receiving period are made for a programmed
duration.
If the PTT button is pressed during the programmed re-
ceiving period, you hear a prohibit tone, indicating that
you should release the PTT button. The radio ignores
the PTT button press and remains in Emergency mode.
If the Emergency Alarm request fails, the radio does not
retry to send the request, and enters the hot mic directly.
Radio transmits an alarm signal without any audio or visual indicators.

Once the Emergency Alarm is acknowledged, your radio microphone
remains muted until the programmed transmission period expires.
